Axis Mundi

"Compasses and squares symbolize the creation of the earthly world. The Axis Mundi passes through them from eternity to eternity."

A hand-carved sandstone cube stands at the center of the piece. The Axis Mundi runs through a brass navigation compass and a hand-crafted square made of mahogany and brass. The sculpture stands pointedly on a mosaic base made of stoneware.
